Frisco is a fantastic locale about 45 minutes north of Dallas. The suburb has grown at an astonishing rate over the past several years. Many businesses have taken notice and set up their headquarters in the area, and the Frisco housing market is as hot as its ever been. Perhaps you’re thinking about moving to Frisco, or maybe you just want to spend a day or two checking out the sights for yourself. Whatever brings you to town, here are some places to check out on your upcoming trip to Frisco.

1. The Star

1 Cowboys Way, Frisco, TX 75034

Football fans will feel right at home in Frisco, as The Star is the world headquarters and practice facility for the NFL’s famed Dallas Cowboys. The team practices here throughout the season and for multiple weeks during training camp. They will usually have a few practices open during August for fans who want to come out and watch the team in action as they prepare for the upcoming season. Team executives also hold an office at The Star’s 91-acre campus.

You’ll find over 20 restaurants in the Tostitos Championship Plaza that surrounds The Star, along with a Dallas Cowboys pro shop where you can shop for team apparel and souvenirs to make your loyalty known. The Star is a fun destination for Cowboys fans, but it also provides plenty of fun and excitement, even for those who don’t follow the team.

You can marvel at exhibits that hold rare or collectible items, such as a limited edition Barbie Game Boy. In total, the museum is home to over 100,000 unique video game artifacts. After you have seen all of the museum’s displays, you can visit the onsite 80’s-style arcade to enjoy numerous classic video games, such as PacMan.

3. KidZania

2601 Preston Rd #3011, Frisco, TX 75034

KidZania has become popular in other countries over the past few years, and Frisco is home to the first KidZania franchise in the entire United States. The purpose of KidZania is to encourage children to think about future career possibilities by providing hands-on experiences that are both fun and educational.

At KidZania, children can ride in a fire truck, watch themselves give an on-camera weather report, and learn the basics of attending to physical needs as a first responder. As they complete each task, they will receive money that they can use to pay for certain experiences or buy prizes in the KidZania gift shop. KidZania also has a play area specifically for babies and toddlers. You’ll find KidZania inside Stonebriar Mall.

The club offers two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a state-of-the-art clubhouse and top-notch food and service. Members have a choice between the Fazio course and the Country Club course. The Fazio course plays at just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. The Country Club course plays at 7,064 yards from the back tees but offers players six choices of where to tee off. Guests can only play while accompanying a member, but club membership is a great option to consider if you’re looking to settle into the area and build relationships with other members.

5. Stonebriar Centre

Not only is Stonebriar Mall the home of KidZania, but it’s also the center of a thriving entertainment district surrounded by numerous shopping and dining options. Adults will enjoy playing games and sharing appetizers at Dave and Busters or catching the latest movie at the AMC Theater. Perhaps you prefer to stop at Barnes and Noble and sip a cup of coffee as you read the latest release.

There’s something for everyone at Stonebriar Mall, where you can find over 200 stores to shop from, including major department stores. When you’re ready to take a break and grab a bite to eat, you can stop by the food court or head over to one of the full-service restaurants inside the mall or in the surrounding area.

6. Frisco Commons Park

8000 McKinney Rd, Frisco, TX 75034

Frisco has plenty of large outdoor spaces to enjoy, and Frisco Commons Park is one of the top options. The park offers a large children’s playground along with a splash pad and multiple picnic areas. There’s a fully stocked pond that fishers will love, along with several walking and biking trails. The outdoor amphitheater regularly hosts outdoor events, and many people come to the park primarily to visit the nearby Veterans Memorial.

7. National Soccer Hall of Fame

9200 World Cup Way, Frisco, TX 75033

Not only is Frisco home to MLS’s FC Dallas, but it’s also the site of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. You’ll find the exhibits interesting and informative regardless of whether or not you’re a soccer fan. You’ll begin your experience with a unique facial recognition process that helps customize your visit. Throughout your time at the museum, you’ll utilize virtual reality to test your soccer skills and match up with some of the game’s greats in the Gesture Technology Skills Challenge. You’ll also learn about various milestones throughout the history of the game, along with some of the most important figures from the past who helped bring the game to prominence.

As you can see, there’s plenty to do in Frisco. Some people find that a quick visit isn’t enough time to fully enjoy all that Frisco has to offer.
